N.B.: Zelotes is the oldest available replacement name for Melanophora C. L. Koch, 1833: 120, pl. 20 (preoccupied in Diptera by Meigen, 1803) (see also the discussions by Bonnet, 1957: 2759 and Bonnet, 1959: 4909). Considered a senior synonym of Scotophinus Simon, 1905 by Platnick, 1989b: 488 and of Zavattarica Caporiacco, 1941 by Platnick, 1992: 178.
