N.B.: considered a senior synonym of Oreodia Hull, 1950: 420, type O. minutula Hull, 1950 by Millidge & Locket, 1952: 71 and of Bathyphantoides Kaston, 1948: 133, type Bathyphantes brevis (Emerton, 1911) by Hackman, 1954: 13; Ivie's (1969) placement of Diplostyla Emerton, 1882 and Kaestneria Wiehle, 1956 as subgenera of Bathyphantes has not been followed by subsequent workers.
