Genus comment: A. Forster & Wilton, 1973: 278, type A. ansa Forster & Wilton, 1973; Forster & Wilton considered the genus incertae sedis; placed here by Brignoli, 1983c: 499. N.B.: Transferred from Amphinectidae to Stiphididiae by Wheeler et al., 2017: 608. Transfer of Aorangia poppelwelli to Agelenidae (Murphy & Roberts, 2015: viii) not sufficiently justified and is not accepted here, furthermore is it not the type species of the genus.
