N.B.: considered a senior synonym of Nictyphantes Joseph, 1882: 18 (type N. microphthalmus Joseph, 1882) by Simon, 1894a: 706, of Stygohyphantes Kratochvíl, 1948: 7, type (designated by Deeleman-Reinhold, 1978b: 23) T. giromettai (Kulczyński, 1914) by Deeleman-Reinhold, 1978b: 23, who treated the name as a subgenus; the elevations of the subgenera Stygohyphantes Kratochvíl, 1948 and Troglodytia Deeleman-Reinhold, 1978 to generic status suggested by Saaristo & Tanasevitch, 1996b: 175 were not accompanied by diagnoses or justifications, and are therefore not followed here.
