Genus comment: R. Roewer, 1960d: 581, type Lycosa rabida Walckenaer, 1837; N.B.: removed from the synonymy of Hogna Simon, 1885 by Brady & McKinley, 1994: 138 (contra Dondale & Redner, 1990). N.B.: Breitling, 2019b: 22 assumes that Tigrosa Brady, 2012 might be a synonym of Rabidosa (based mainly on COI, see FAQ 7).
