N.B.: considered a senior synonym of Avicosa Chamberlin & Ivie, 1942a: 38, type Schizocosa minnesotensis (Gertsch, 1934), not S. avida (Walckenaer, 1837) as per Roewer, described as a subgenus of Schizocosa, elevated to genus by Roewer, 1955c: 234, and Epihogna Roewer, 1960d: 580, type S. episima (Chamberlin, 1924) [in Isohogna per Roewer, 1955c, =S. humilis] by Dondale & Redner, 1978a: 146 (cf. Guy, 1966); see note under Geolycosa.
