N.B.: Redefined and seperated from Sitticus Simon, 1901 by Prószyński, 2017: 39. The re-synonymization of Attulus, Calositticus and Hypositticus with Sitticus by Breitling, 2019b: 31 was not accepted, because based mainly on COI (see FAQ 7). Maddison et al., 2020: 11-12 syonymize the genera Sitticus Simon, 1901 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:03232] (type species Araneus terebratus Clerck, 1757), Sitticulus F. Dahl, 1926 (type species Attus saltator O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1868), Calositticus Lohmander, 1944 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:04474] (type species Attus caricis Westring, 1861), Hypositticus Lohmander, 1944 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:04475] and Sittipub Prószyński, 2016 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:04364] (both with the type species Aranea pubescens Fabricius, 1775), Sittiflor Prószyński, 2017 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:04396] (type species Euophrys floricola C. L. Koch, 1837), and Sittilong Prószyński, 2017 [urn:lsid:nmbe.ch:spidergen:04397] (type species Attus longipes Canestrini, 1873), with Attulus. Sitticulus was synonymized with Sitticus by Prószyński, 1973a: 72 (through transfer of type species) and through transfer of type species by Prószyński, 2017: 39 regarded as synonym of Attulus. Calositticus and Hypositticus were described as subgenera of Sitticus, elevated to genus rank and recognized as older synonyms of Sittiflor and Sittipub by Blick & Marusik, 2018: 237.
