N.B.: Removed from the synonymy of Steatoda Sundevall, 1833 by Wunderlich, 2008b: 198, contra Levi, 1957b: 375. Re-synonymization with Steatoda (Murphy & Roberts, 2015: viii) not sufficiently justified and is not accepted here; Breitling, 2019b: 26 discusses Asagena might be a subgenus of Steatoda (based mainly on COI, see FAQ 7).
