N.B.: the synonymy with Archaea C. L. Koch & Berendt, 1854 suggested by Eskov, 1992c: 312 was not based on examination of recent specimens and has not been accepted by subsequent workers; the synonymy with Eriauchenus O. Pickard-Cambridge 1881 suggested by Wunderlich, 2004c: 791 (Lehtinen, 1967: 289 also assumed that the type species of both genera are congeneric) is also not accepted here.
