Described as a subgenus of Pochyta by Berland & Millot, 1941: 361, but this description was not valid after ICZN Article 13.3., because no type species was fixed; the subgenus was elevated to genus level by Wesołowska, 2018a: 3; Wesołowska, 2020b: 56 gave the genus the same name, which was formerly a nomen nudum.
